Mental Health Support

Social Workers assist therapeutically by working with both individuals and families to address change and challenges. These challenges can be mental, physical, social, cultural or environmental. Preferably we utilize the participants innate strengths, experiences and belief systems, either personal or cultural, to empower. We offer a valuable alternative to Psychology or psychological services with the benefit of being able to provide supports at the participants home, if preferred. Our supports are aligned with those offered by Medicare's Focused Psychological Strategies (FPS) and thus include:

  • Motivational Interviewing

  • Counselling

  • Cognitive Behavior Therapy (CBT)

  • Relation Strategies

  • Skills Training

  • Interpersonal Psychotherapy

  • Narrative Therapy

In addition to the above Focused Psychological Strategies we are able to assist with:

  • Plan review reports

  • Biopsychosocial and family assessments

  • Individual planning

  • Psychosocial disability or Mental Health concerns

  • Emotional regulation skill development

  • Interpersonal skill development

  • Relationship building

  • Strength Identification

  • Life and self-management skills

Please be aware that whilst the Therapeutic Services provided by Developing Lives are aligned with the treatments offered under Medicare in Mental Health Care Plans, Developing Lives does not provide services to clients under Mental Health Care Plans. Developing Lives is an NDIS support provider. All Developing Lives Social Workers are full Members of the Australian Association of Social Workers (AASW) and are accredited to provide the services offered.
